Rafiki [ Workshop ]

Rafifi Arts Trust acts as a ready source of funding for art training, research and workshops, as a center of information and links inside and outside the country.

The first Rafiki International Artists’ Workshop took place in an old fort in Bagamoyo. 20 artists from around the world were invited to live and work together in a scenic environment next to the extensive white beaches north of Dar-es-Salaam.

It was organised by the Kuona Trust based in Nairobi, with the help of ‘Art in Tanzania’, based in Dar-es-Salaam, and a Working Group of artists from Tanzania.

Workshops also took place in 2004 and 2007.
