Gasworks [ Residency]

The Gaswork studio building was established by Triangle Arts Trust and is situated by the Oval Cricket ground in South East London. It was based on the model of the Bag Factory, in Johannesburg, South Africa. It consists of a gallery and fifteen artists studios. Twelve studios are rented to London based artists and three are reserved for an international residency programme that enables non-UK based artists to live and work in London for a period up to three months. Since inception in 1994, Gasworks has hosted over 140 artists from 50 different countries world wide.

Gasworks is a contemporary arts space housing 12 artists' studios and presenting a programme of exhibitions, residencies, international fellowships and educational projects. Gasworks focuses on visual arts practice, working discursively with emerging UK-based and international artists towards the development of their work. Through its programme, Gasworks aims to contribute to the dissemination of contemporary arts practice to a wider audience.

Gasworks houses the office of Triangle Arts Trust.

Braziers [ Workshop ]

Braziers International Artists’ Workshop was established in 1995 by Gill Ord who had been to the Triangle Workshop in New York in 1990. Braziers’ Working Group responsible for organising the workshop changes from year to year but has always included Gill Ord and Bernadette Maloney working as coordinators. 10 workshops have been held annually every summer at Braziers Park, a 17th-century mansion house set in 50 acres of park and farmland with a number of outbuildings in Oxfordshire on the edge of the Chilterns.

Since 1995 over 150 artists from Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America and Australia have participated.

Braziers is sponsored by Arts Council England, Southern Arts and numerous Trusts and Foundations in the UK and abroad.

Pamoja [ Workshop ]

Pamoja (meaning 'together' in Swahili), was a three-week long sculpture workshop held at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, near Wakefield. 21 sculptors took part 11 of which came from African countries. The studios were located in Bretton Hall, Centre for Applied Studies in Sculpture, adjacent to the park. Pamoja was part of ‘africa95’, a year long festival celebrating African arts in the UK.

Shave [ Workshop ]

Between 1991 and 1997, Shave Workshop took place at Shave Farm in Somerset.

It was partially inspired by Pachipamwe Workshop in Zimbabwe . Shave developed its own character, influenced by the need for open debate and discussion between artists.

In developing the Shave Workshop, Rowena Seddon and Anna Best were assisted by a large number of artists, including Tim Millar and Ella Gibbs.
